
Nicholas Yap Chun Yew
Nicholas’s practice focuses on civil, corporate and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on fraud & asset recovery and contentious probate or Will disputes.
Nicholas holds an LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of London and obtained a Certificate in Legal Practice in 2020. He underwent his pupillage at the firm under Daniel Albert and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2021.
Notably, in the field of asset recovery, he assisted in obtaining a Mareva Injunction, Proprietary Injunction and Ancillary Disclosure in a matter involving imposters who claimed to be associated with one of the world’s largest glove manufacturers during the height of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. As regards corporate disputes, Nicholas recently assisted a company’s board of directors in declaring that notices to convene an extraordinary general meeting in a well-known investment holding company, aimed at effectively forcing a backdoor winding up, were invalid as well as consequential injunctive relief to prohibit the requisitioists from convening the said meeting.
