Gillian Lee is an Associate at Daniel & Wong, where she is part of the Corporate and Commercial practice group – specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

Gillian graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Taylor’s University and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2024. She completed her pupillage under the tutelage of Kenneth Wong Poh Lim, the Partner heading the firm’s Corporate and Commercial division, and was called to the Malaysian Bar in October 2025.
Gillian’s practice primarily encompasses corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions and regulatory compliance. She has been involved in both domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, where she assisted in conducting legal due diligence and drafting and reviewing transaction documents such as share sale agreements and shareholders’ agreements. She has also assisted in advising clients in navigating licensing and compliance requirements across various regulated industries. In addition, Gillian has experience in drafting and reviewing a range of corporate and commercial agreements, including option agreements, supply contracts and framework agreements.
Beyond her corporate practice, Gillian advises on real estate transactions involving both residential and commercial properties, particularly sale and purchase agreements and the related documentation.
- Assisted in legal due diligence, preparation of due diligence report and share sale agreement in the acquisition of 100% shares in Maxoom Sdn Bhd by iMedia Asia Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Catcha Digital Berhad);
- Assisted in the legal due diligence for the acquisition of 60% equity interest in One International Exhibition Sdn Bhd by Catcha Connect Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Catcha Digital Berhad);
- Assisted in the legal due diligence, preparation of due diligence report and definitive agreements in the acquisition of 51% equity interest in Nexible Solutions Sdn Bhd by Catcha Nexible Holdings Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Catcha Digital Berhad); and
- Assisted in the legal due diligence, preparation of due diligence report and definitive agreements in an acquisition of 85% equity interest in a long-established Malaysian manufacturer of poultry processing equipment and components by a US-incorporated company.
- Advised a People’s Republic of China (“PRC“)-based company on the legal and regulatory requirements for market entry into Malaysia, with a focus on power batteries, electric drives and charging infrastructure;
- Advised a PRC-based state-owned company specialising in sustainable construction and eco-environmental protection technologies on licensing requirements and regulatory compliance for subcontracting in a government / public road construction project in Malaysia; and
- Advised a company seeking to undertake catering, housekeeping and janitorial services in an offshore setting, on compliance with the PETRONAS licensing requirements.
- Assisted in the drafting and reviewing of agreements, including shareholder agreements, option agreements, supply contracts and framework agreements;
- Assisted in advising the disposal of multiple parcels of land in Klang Valley to a property developer for an aggregate value of approximately RM113 million; and
- Advising and drafting sale and purchase agreements and preparing ancillary documents, including memorandum of transfer, lodgement and withdrawal of private caveat forms, consent to transfer forms.
