Emily is an Associate at Daniel & Wong, where she is a part of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial practice group, specialising in corporate and commercial transactions, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

Emily’s main area of practice is in corporate and commercial transactions. Her practice revolves around corporate advisory services and ensuring regulatory compliance for both foreign and local clients across various industries, as well as drafting various corporate and commercial agreements.
She has been involved in several due diligence exercises for Malaysian companies, whereby she assisted clients in navigating potential risks and opportunities associated with mergers and acquisitions.
In addition to her corporate practice, Emily regularly advises on real property transactions, including sale and purchase agreements, as well as tenancies for both residential and commercial properties.
Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of London and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2022. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2023.
- Assisted in the legal due diligence, preparation of due diligence report and definitive agreements in the acquisition of 51% stake in a leading digital marketing company with operations in Malaysia and Thailand by a Labuan-based company.
- Advised a People’s Republic of China (“PRC“)-based company on the legal and regulatory requirements for market entry into Malaysia, with a focus on power batteries, electric drives and charging infrastructure.
- Advised a PRC-based state-owned company specialising in sustainable construction and eco-environmental protection technologies on licensing requirements and regulatory compliance for subcontracting in a government public road construction project in Malaysia.
- Advised a Singapore-based company on local regulatory requirements and market entry strategies to support its expansion into the logistics sector in Malaysia.
- Assisted in the drafting and reviewing of agreements, including collaboration agreements, share sale agreements, shareholder agreements and tenancy agreements.
- Advising and drafting sale and purchase agreements and preparing ancillary documents, including memorandum of transfer, lodgement and withdrawal of private caveat forms, consent to transfer forms.
