Gillian Lee is currently undergoing her pupillage under the tutelage of Kenneth Wong Poh Lim, the Partner heading the firm’s Corporate and Commercial division.
Gillian graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Taylor’s University and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2024.
Her exposure to corporate and commercial matters focuses on mergers and acquisitions as well as regulatory compliance. She has assisted in due diligence exercises and advised clients on navigating licensing and regulatory requirements across various sectors. Gillian also has experience drafting and reviewing corporate agreements, such as share sales and shareholder agreements, as well as managing real property transactions.
Prior to joining Daniel & Wong, Gillian gained a strong foundation in legal research, drafting and client communication through internships at firms with diverse practice areas, enriching her with a well-rounded understanding of the legal profession.
- Assisted in advising Catcha Nexible Holdings Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Catcha Digital Berhad) in its acquisition of 51% equity interest in Nexible Solutions Sdn Bhd.
- Advised a People’s Republic of China (“PRC“)-based company on the legal and regulatory requirements for market entry into Malaysia, with a focus on power batteries, electric drives and charging infrastructure.
- Advised a PRC-based state-owned company specialising in sustainable construction and eco-environmental protection technologies on licensing requirements and regulatory compliance for subcontracting in a government public road construction project in Malaysia.
- Assisted in the drafting and reviewing of agreements, including share sale agreements, shareholder agreements, and option agreements.
- Advising and drafting sale and purchase agreements and preparing ancillary documents, including memorandum of transfer, lodgement and withdrawal of private caveat forms, consent to transfer forms.
